Potatoes are very versatile and easiest to cook. They serve great snacking option and even complete meal recipes. Potatoes can be roasted, baked, fried or boiled. Fried potatoes taste delicious however they aren't good for health.

Oven Fried Potatoes are great side dish and snacks. They are a lot healthier alternative of deep fried french fries. Oven fried potatoes are healthy and taste as good as deep fried potatoes. Basic ingredients to make Oven fried potatoes remain the same like potatoes, salt, pepper or any other seasoning and oil. Since these aren't deep fried only a little oil is required to make mouth watering Oven fried potatoes. Usage of oven instead of a deep fryer makes it a very hassle free cooking experience.

Oven fried potatoes are a lot healthier than deep fried potatoes. The calorie intake is a lot lesser in them. Potatoes are saturated fat free and a great source of Vitamin C however deep fried potatoes contain a large amount of fat making them an unhealthy food option. Fried potatoes contain a large amount of saturated and trans fat. Even the usage of canola or sunflower oil are healthier than usage of animal fat however deep frying adds a large quantity of fat to the potatoes while cooking making them unhealthy. A serving of deep fried french fries (about 50 pieces) contains about 13g (2.5 unsaturated) fat in comparison to a serving of Oven fried potatoes that contains about 7g of fat and none of the fat in Oven fried potatoes is saturated if Olive oil is used.

Oven fried potatoes are baked in the oven with a little brushing of oil and they still have the goodness of Vitamin C, fibers, Complex Carbs and a lot less fat. Oil on the surface makes it crispy like deep fried potatoes however the potato cooks through high temprature in the oven.
